DC Motor now a days mostly used for precise speed control of Motor Application,in order to replace the DC motor with AC Induction Motor keep in mind that the initial Torque of the Motor of Load to be Calculate which is to be drive and then fix it the RPM side.

DC motor replace with AC motor its depend on application, some DC motors replace with same rating and some time higher then but mostly there is no issue replace with same motor.

Mostly we say that is AC motor is almost double of DC motor rating, because the Starting Current is very high also Important Factor of AC Motor.

AC Motor shall be selected according to the type of Load & Application with the kind of cooling for the motor needed and after selecting the motor & identifying the application requirement in terms of torque, you can select various AC Drives available in the market for specific applications pertaining to your requirement in different brands.

Do go through some variable frequency drive catalogs once or ask the dealer or manufacturer to suggest you one as per your application and ratings of motor in terms of either HP or KW mentioning constant torque or variable torque requirements, good dealers or manufacturers will suggest you their specific model as per your application.

If you are not suggested by them for the right model or you are not satisfied by their advice then straight away look for General Purpose VFD Drives in their catalog and select one higher or equivalent rating drives for your application.
